Why the PT-40
An ELD that reports location on its own.
Bluetooth ELDs like the PT-30 take location from the driver’s phone. When the phone dies, the app gets closed, or the driver walks into the truck stop with it, the map goes quiet and the broker’s tracking link stops updating. The PT-40 has its own GPS and LTE connection, so the truck keeps reporting.

Is DocuDrive an FMCSA-registered ELD?
Yes. DocuDrive Logbook is on FMCSA’s registered ELD list under ELD identifier DDL996, registered by DocuDrive LLC.
What is the difference between the PT-30 and the PT-40?
The PT-30 connects to the driver’s phone over Bluetooth and uses the phone for location. The PT-40 has its own GPS and LTE connection, so the truck keeps reporting location when the phone is dead or out of the cab.
Does DocuDrive work with Highway and Trucker Tools?
Yes. In Highway or Trucker Tools, choose DocuDrive as your ELD and approve the connection so the broker can see your location on the load.
Will the PT-40 fit a sprinter van or box truck?
Yes. The PT-40 plugs into standard OBD-II ports on vans, box trucks, and pickups, and into 9-pin and 6-pin ports on heavy trucks. Some Volvo, Mack, and Peterbilt trucks need an adapter cable.
Is there a contract?
No. Service is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime from the billing portal. Cancel inside the first 14 days and you pay no service fee.
